no, its tied to my main battery ( a 105 aHr AGM) via my auxiliary fuse panel I installed. It draws something like .3 amps. I could leave it on for 200+ hours and still start the truck.  Plus  it turns off automatically when I put the awning away or if I turn it off manually.

I always go with red light so that I can have better night vision. Although reading is definitely more difficult that way.

I’ve got a red lamp if I need, but this is more general camp lighting.

How are the daylight hours where you are?
I’ve been camping in summer mostly. It gets dark late and there’s not much need for great camp lighting.

Currently camping is disallowed, but days are short and getting shorter. Sundown before 6pm.

I’ll be wanting some damn lights
